IF: Temptation

I'm sure there are other artists/illustrators who may feel guilt when they take forever posting something new on their blog, right?  I can't be the only one....
It may have been a while, but I've been using my time productively, I swear.  I've been experimenting with new styles, new tools, and creating more illustrations--more details to come.  This illustration was created in both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (I'm trying to get my feet wet with Illustrator.)  And I love mermaids, so why not post one for Illustration Friday's Temptation?  They're the temptresses of the seas!

Hope you have a happy June and thanks for stopping by!

IF: Natural

No need to tell me that it would have been more fitting to post an illustration celebrating Earth day for this week's topic.  Unfortunately, I have tons of packing to do over the next few days since I'm moving so I have not had a chance to do a cool illustration praising our Mother Earth (but I do praise her.)
But in a way, the ballerina is fitting for me.
I love ballerinas. Maybe it's their fluidity, grace and style that I admire enough to doodle often. Who knows? I do know that drawing ballerinas--absentmindedly or purposely--have pretty much been my default doodle for a good while.   I just decided to share and go with the flow this time...and draw what comes naturally. :)

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

So I learned something new.  A friend of mine told me that there is a correct way to write the shortened version of St. Patrick's Day...I wonder if I'm not alone thinking it's supposed to be spelt 'Patty's.'
Have a safe and happy St. Paddy's day tomorrow!

IF: Spark

So, I am still experimenting with different styles, getting out of my comfort zone.  I little fact about me, I enjoy collecting quotes.  This one I came across that inspired me to make a illustration about that 'spark of an idea,' that 'lightbulb moment' we all get at the most inopportune and random moments in our lives.  I've read once that its a good idea to keep all of those random bursts of inspirational thoughts because maybe one of those could lead to something groundbreaking.  But I also believe that anything I do--be it my work or art--should be something that sparks that flame inside, something that creates passion and inspiration in my life.  I'm happy to say that a good quote as well as great artwork  have definitely created that spark inside of me enough to share.
Happy Monday! :)

IF: Twisted

Ebony Glenn 2014.
Happy Friday!
So I wanted to do something a little different this time around.  I have a puppy, named Louie, who is a bit too curious and excited whenever I take him for a walk.  Hence, this scenario tends to happen quite often when we go walking--getting all tangeled and twisted with his leash.  Well, not this scenario per se, but the general idea. :)

IF: Disguise

Ebony Glenn. 2014.
It's the Snow Queen for this week's topic for Illustration Friday!  If you're wondering, yes, I've seen Frozen and loved it.  It's inspired me to create my own Snow Queen for IF's 'Disguise.' It's supposed to snow tomorrow, too. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

IF: Search, Happy 2014!

© 2014 Ebony Glenn.

This week's submission for Illustration Friday's "Search."
Ok, to be honest, I feel this particular image would be more fitting if the topic this week was "Found," but I guess it's how you look at it, right?  The way I see it, I wanted the viewer to feel as if they stumbled upon her, and in turn, she stumbled upon you too. And funny how letting your mind run wild with a drawing can take you places with it you didn't foresee in the beginning.  Originally I had the girl in a different setting and then I thought, huh--what if she was a mermaid in a lake?  Usually I'm pretty set with my direction when I begin an illustration, but I'm pretty happy I decided to run wild with my thoughts on this one. :)
